The Allen-Bradley 1746-OBP8/B is a high-current DC digital output module designed for the SLC 500 PLC platform. As a Series B version, it /fers improved performance and reliability over earlier revisions, making it well-suited for demanding industrial applications requiring higher output current capacity.
This module provides 8 sourcing output channels, organized into two groups / 4 points each (4 points per common). It operates on a nominal 24V DC supply (20.4–26.4V DC range) and is specifically engineered for high-current output applications, capable / delivering up to 2.0 A per channel. This makes it ideal for directly driving high-power DC loads such as solenoids, contactors, and actuators without the need for interposing relays in many cases.
The 1746-OBP8/B does not include internal electronic protection, allowing for higher current delivery but requiring proper external protection design. Its screw terminal configuration ensures robust and secure field wiring, which is essential in harsh industrial environments.
