The Allen Bradley 1738-AENTR ArmorPoint EtherNet/IP Adaptor is a rugged, on-machine communication adaptor designed for ArmorPoint I/O systems from Rockwell Automation. It provides a direct EtherNet/IP interface for distributed I/O modules, allowing real-time data exchange between field devices and control systems without the need for traditional control cabinet installations.
Unlike standard POINT I/O solutions, the ArmorPoint platform is built for harsh industrial environments. The 1738-AENTR features a fully sealed housing with high ingress protection, enabling it to be mounted directly on machinery, production lines, or outdoor equipment. This significantly reduces wiring complexity and installation costs by eliminating the need for protective enclosures.
Equipped with M12 quick disconnect connectors and subnet expansion capability, the module supports fast deployment and flexible network topology. It is particularly suitable for decentralized automation architectures where reliability, durability, and ease / maintenance are critical.
