The Allen-Bradley 2198-ABQE Kinetix 5700 EtherNet/IP Encoder Output Module is a specialized interface module designed to generate and output encoder signals for external devices within advanced motion control systems. It is part / the Kinetix 5700 platform and is commonly used in applications that require synchronization between motion control and peripheral equipment such as vision systems.
This module functions as an encoder output emulator, capable / producing encoder pulse signals based on both real and virtual axis data from the integrated motion system over EtherNet/IP. It allows external devices—such as line-scan cameras or inspection systems—to synchronize precisely with machine motion without requiring a direct mechanical encoder connection.
Equipped with dual 15-pin D-sub output connectors, the 2198-ABQE supports flexible connectivity to customer-supplied equipment. It is DIN-rail mounted and includes a 24V wiring plug for control power, making it easy to integrate into control cabinets and automation systems.
