The Allen-Bradley 1784-PKTX PCI Network Interface Card is a high-performance communication interface designed for desktop computers requiring direct integration with industrial control networks. It provides a stable and efficient solution for connecting engineering workstations to Allen-Bradley PLC systems.
Unlike portable PCMCIA-based solutions, the 1784-PKTX is installed directly into a PCI slot, making it suitable for fixed industrial PCs and engineering stations. It supports multiple legacy communication protocols, including DH+, DH-485, and Remote I/O, ensuring compatibility with a wide range / existing automation infrastructures.
The card features dual communication channels, allowing flexible network configuration. Channel 1A supports DH+ and Remote I/O via a 3-pin Phoenix connector, while Channel 1C supports DH-485 via a 6-pin Phoenix connector. Each channel is equipped with a dedicated status LED for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
With support for up to four modules per system and reliable PCI bus communication, the 1784-PKTX remains a practical solution for maintaining and expanding legacy industrial networks.
