The Allen-Bradley 1771-IR Analog RTD Input Module is an analog input module designed for temperature measurement in PLC-5 based automation systems from Allen-Bradley. It is specifically engineered to interface with resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), allowing accurate monitoring / temperature conditions in industrial processes.
The module supports up to six analog RTD input channels using a 3-wire RTD configuration, which helps improve measurement accuracy by compensating for lead resistance. This capability makes the module well suited for applications where stable and precise temperature monitoring is required.
Installed in a standard 1771 I/O chassis, the 1771-IR communicates directly with the PLC-5 processor through the backplane.
