The Allen-Bradley 1756-OW16I is a ControlLogix isolated relay output module designed to provide flexible switching / AC or DC loads through electromechanical relay contacts. With sixteen individually isolated relay output channels, this module is well suited for applications requiring electrical separation between field devices and the control system.
Unlike solid-state output modules, the 1756-OW16I uses mechanical relay contacts, allowing it to switch a wide range / voltage levels and load types. This makes it particularly valuable in mixed-voltage environments where both AC and DC field devices must be controlled from the same PLC platform.
Fully compatible with the ControlLogix chassis architecture, the module installs into a standard slot and communicates via the backplane. It is commonly used in industrial automation systems where isolation, versatility, and load flexibility are key requirements.
